No Need To Argue
How do you know when something goes out of fashion?
And who decides?
"Them"?
Who are these unnamed individuals?
Are "they" individuals at all?
What is individuality?
Is everyone the same?
Or is everyone trying to be different?
And therefore, is everyone the same?
Who needs to know?
For what?
And how do you know what makes you stand out?
Do you just 'know'?
Or does someone tell you?
So if you're the same,
When do you go out of fashion?
You Think It's Like This
But Really It's Like This
Mirah
Somehow I'm about six years off the ball on this one, but I don't mind. At first I thought this was Laura Veirs' little sister; about 10 years little-er. Mirah's well worth my ignorance. And then there's all the Wiki and Pitchfork pages I needed to read up on to seem smart at what I like to call 'art conversations' where nobody really knows what the other is talking about, but it's cool to nod your head and pretend like this is what you do for a living. Thank God for the internet.
The 14 year old choir girl singing to me about relationships and how everything's so frail that I don't really need to be old to be mature, has got a point - you don't need to sleep with someone to be their friend forever.
Apart from that...
Photographs like this is what makes bands like the Arctic Monkeys cool.
May Photoshop be with you.
